The first one pound was circulated in the UK in 1983 to replace the outgoing Pound Notes. The original 'round pound' was a hallmark of British change for over three decades featuring many different designs released annually each pertaining to the four nations of the United Kingdom. In 2017 a new 12-sided bi-metallic design for the pound coin was announced replacing the original round design which was eventually removed from circulation. In 2023 the £1 coin was updated again with a new definitive design forming part of the King Charles Flora and Fauna collection. This coin depicts some of the different bee species found in Great Britain and has yet to be circulated. We specialise in circulated £1 coins from the UK but also have a selection from The Isle of Man, Gibraltar and The Falkland Islands.
